Hi, how are you today?
I am doing wonderful and highly blessed.
Where are you from?
Columbia, South Carolina.
When did you start making music - and what or who were your early influences?
Started making music at the age of 16. What influenced me early on was just that one sound I heard in the car riding with my mom it was called big merch that bmf by Rick Ross the beat was on a whole another level and just caught my ears I picked up a pencil and paper later that day and started writing. That was the start of Zoonieg!
Besides making music what else do you do?
I am a CEO of a record label/marketing agency called Hivolproductions, LLC which helps all professions get to the next level in our ways. I also do songwriting as well and can do a lot of acting as well just haven't stepped into that area just yet.
What skills do you think artists need to be successful?
They need structure, a stable mindset also a team to help them reach a whole another level, not just people surrounding them just to do that the real support, also a lot of practice and exercise as well for stage presence plays a big role as well.
How do you stay up to date with the latest music trends?
Social media at all times you can't miss anything on none of those platforms periods everything is up to date. The big role is still networking as always I tell people not just all social media.
When performing, what techniques do you use to engage the audience?
As I always do I just keep the energy up to my lyrics unmatched everything I rap it's a vibe big one to the max and the love I get is unmatched. All a crowd needs is entrainment in a positive way that's what I bring to the table.
What would you say is the most rewarding part of being an artist?
The accomplishments you can have being independent of music charts to being featured in major magazines and the indie ones as well all play a big role in accomplishments. Also knowing you can keep it going without no issues.
How did you spend your lockdown/pandemic time? What did you accomplish before the entertainment world began to open up again?
I spent it networking building more connections for me and my label. Clients were a big increase in a major way during the pandemic. Spotify, YouTube, apple music, and more have been amazing resources to generate revenue for those who needed help.
What makes you different from other artists?
I am a CEO first and I didn't realize that until I had to learn the business as an artist. Like I tell everybody it's more to music than just being an artist and being an entrepreneur making ways for the next to be inspired and to come up. So I realized I have been far from the artist I still say I am because I still do music in my free time as well and have a lot of people around the world tuned in.
Are there any key notes would u like to include?
Just never give up keep going at all times. Never use to get what you want always encourage the next no matter what . Decrease the hate and motivate thats the only way I see the music entertainment or any entertainment business will make it 100% .
