Interview with Pretty Riski: Rising Star with Bold Ambitions

Every Day Clout (EDC):

Thank you for joining us, Pretty Riski! We’re excited to dive into your journey. Let’s kick things off with a bit about who you are.

Who Are You?

EDC:

Tell us a little about yourself. What makes you unique as an artist?

Pretty Riski:

I’m an Atlanta-based rapper with deep roots in Queens, New York, and Mymensingh, Bangladesh. Growing up in Atlanta, I’ve been exposed to a melting pot of influences, and I incorporate that into my music. I rap in both English and Bangla, bringing something different to the table. I’ve been writing poems since I was in first grade, which led me to start creating music in high school.

I officially started releasing music in August 2024, but my journey as an artist goes beyond just the tracks. I handle everything myself—writing, producing, managing, and promoting. The independence is empowering, but it also comes with its challenges. When I’m not in the studio, I’m connecting with industry people, traveling, and soaking in new experiences to fuel my creativity.

The Music Behind the Mic

EDC:

How did you get started in music? What’s the journey been like?

Pretty Riski:

It all started at Revolt World last year. I told my friend I rapped, and they convinced me to participate in the McDonald’s rap challenge. I had never shared my music with anyone, so this was a huge leap. I played a track for my friend, and they urged me to go for it. That moment really pushed me out of my comfort zone.

After that, I started recording more seriously. Initially, I was collaborating with friends, but eventually, I set up my own home studio. I’ve learned everything from mixing to mastering, which allows me to control every aspect of the process. August 2024 was the official launch of my music career, and now I’m focused on creating more, performing, and connecting with my fans.

EDC:

How does your Bengali heritage influence your music and style?

Pretty Riski:

My Bengali roots are everything to me. It influences my music, my visuals, and my style. I try to incorporate Bangla in my lyrics, and that sets me apart. Growing up in the U.S. with Bengali parents gave me a unique perspective—one that I’m proud to bring into my music.

From the way I dress to the beats I choose, it’s all a reflection of my culture. I’ve got a strong connection to where I come from, and I love infusing that into everything I do as an artist.

EDC:

Tell us about your stage name—what’s the story behind Pretty Ri$ki?

Pretty Riski:

The name Pretty Ri$ki is all about embracing confidence and being unapologetically yourself. The “pretty” part is not about vanity—it’s about self-empowerment. And “Riski” comes from my willingness to take risks in both my music and my life. I’ve never been afraid to step out of my comfort zone, and I want others, especially women, to feel that same sense of confidence when they hear my music. It’s all about showing up for yourself, no matter what the world thinks.

The Sound of Pretty Riski

EDC:

What can listeners expect when they press play on one of your tracks?

Pretty Riski:

When you listen to my music, you can expect an eclectic mix of sounds. I blend hip-hop with elements of my Bengali heritage, which creates something fresh and unique. My beats are hard-hitting, but the lyrics are real and vulnerable. I write about my experiences, my struggles, and my wins. My music is for anyone who’s ever had to hustle to make something of themselves, and anyone who refuses to be boxed in by expectations.

The Future of Pretty Riski

EDC:

What’s next for you? Where do you see yourself going in the next few years?

Pretty Riski:

I’m excited about the future! I’ve got more music on the way—some new singles, an EP, and even more collaborations with other artists. My goal is to keep growing as an artist, expanding my reach, and performing for bigger audiences. Ultimately, I want to bring my music to the world and inspire others to live boldly, just like I’m doing. The sky’s the limit!

EDC:

Thank you for sharing your story with us, Pretty Riski! We’re looking forward to hearing more from you in the future!

Pretty Riski:

Thank you for having me! Keep an eye out for what’s coming next. I appreciate all the love and support!
