Q: Hi there, how are you feeling today?
City Wind: I’m doing pretty good, thanks for having me.
Q: Where are you from?
City Wind: I’m from the westside of Chicago, but I also lived in Alabama.
Q: When did you start making music – and what or who were your early influences?
City Wind: I started making music in 2018. I was influenced by groups like Wu Tang Clan, 3 6 Mafia, Outkast, and the Diplomats.
Q: What skills do you think artists need to be successful?
City Wind: At first, I thought you only needed to be able to rap. But now, I realize you need to learn the business which is a never-ending journey. Learn how to make songs, and you have to market your music.
Q: How do you stay up to date with the latest music trends?
City Wind: I truly think you don’t have to follow trends. Just be yourself, use social media to your advantage, and see what happens.
Q: When performing, what techniques do you use to engage the audience?
City Wind: I usually study artists that I looked up to or admire and I try to mix their techniques with mine.
Q: What would you say is the most rewarding part of being an artist?
City Wind: Learning the business more and more every day.
Q: How does your content online make you stand out as an artist?
City Wind: I sound like myself as an artist and not like anyone else.
Q: What makes you different from other artists?
City Wind: I have my own unique sound, and I don’t want to sound like anyone else.
Q: Last question, when not making music, where can we find you?
City Wind: You can find me on Instagram @citywind773. Thanks for the interview!
