Aspiring NATIVE artist speaks insidious truth.

Andrew Esquimaux a.k.a migize nodin is a Toronto native and has embraced music since he was three years old. As a teen, he started learning how to write music and play guitar. At the age of thirteen he had already run away from various group and foster homes and ended up homeless and incarcerated multiple times. Drawing from conflicts within the streets and community, Andrew uses his music to inspire hope and change by sharing his story. His inspirations are Tupac, Eyedea and Abilities, Atmosphere, Aesop rock and other various gangster rap and hip hop artists. Based in the GTA, he now writes, records and hopes to perform his own music.

I am from Toronto,Ontario,Canada.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?

I play the guitar, I used to skateboard.

I like to ride my bike and hang out in nature and play video games.

What first got you into music?

My dad and relatives I would have to say they played all types of music.

What’s next for you?

I hope to continue making music and be able to support my family,

Bring light to indigenous issues and the way society has treated us for many centuries.

I also hope to inspire others to go out and fight for what they believe is right and show their own writing or art with the world.

I've been making music for quite some time and now I've only gotten it on streaming platforms

Tell us about your latest project/single (release date, title, tours, etc)

My latest single is call "truth is no mystery" it's about residential schools and what happened inside them and how we as a people need to be resilient to get the bodies of the many children buried in the unmarked graves on residential school grounds.

I did a performance when I was a young teen in Ottawa for a youth in care conference the room was filled with about 500 people.

I also did a performance at Centennial college
